My Odd Sock features a motley collection of misfits. Here are just a few of the regulars…
My Odd Sock represents your humbled author. Awkwardly out of style, the Odd Sock finds itself hanging in the back of the drawer, carefully observing the other socks as they frantically move through a busy cycle of wearing, washing & then, waiting till the next call to duty.
Blockhead makes frequent appearances on these pages as another image of my personality. Besides having a head the size of a Sylvania, Blockhead depicts all the dumb stuff one does in life. Like when you plug-up the toilet on your first day at a new job and your raw sewage floats out into the hallway of the office. That’s a blockhead move (and a true story).
Multiple Sclerosis or MS for short. Those of us who know this S.O.B. personally, realize MS doesn’t need any introduction. Though it never speaks, MS has become a freeloader to all the activities of our lives. Day & night, it never leaves us alone–heck, we can’t even pee without MS being in the bathroom. Give us some privacy will ya, Geez!
Peanut in a Tin Can typifies what it sounds like when My Odd Sock gets an idea.
One thought—in a big, empty head—Try it & listen…you’ll know what I mean.
When you see the Drain, you know it’s time to let loose of some excess gray matter (I have so much to spare!). “Brain Drain” is a collection of offbeat observations & thoughts on all kinds of weird stuff.
The Funny Meter rears its ugly head when, well, something isn’t funny. My Odd Sock strives to be a “humor site,” but sometimes the material can be “chuckle-challenged.” That’s when the Funny Meter is quick to make that point clear!
Hecklephant will appear when something truly “sucks” (which is all the time if it were up to him!). A character from my past, Hecklephant was a guy, dressed as an elephant, who heckled me by screaming at me during my entire stand-up set. Quite a joy it was!
