You Have GOT To Be Kidding
Here in the U.S., while the debate over gun control swirls to a stand-still like water in a clogged toilet, Miguel Caballero is busy creating solutions.
His company, located in Bogota, Columbia, recently announced its new line of armored clothing for………..children!
Yes, even I couldn’t think of something that ridiculous!
From jackets to backpacks to vests, Miguel’s products protect little Justin or Jocelyn with ballistic bliss!
Yep, school-yard bullies won’t be nearly as feared when the other children don their armored outerwear.
Here, a worker (probably making $1.50 a day) inspects armored vests designed for children at Miguel Caballero’s factory in Columbia.
Please never mind the sweat-shop like conditions in the background!
Caballero is hoping his protective clothing will quickly become the number two Columbian export.
(Cocaine being number one.)
As these pictures show, Miguel routinely tests the effectiveness of his bullet-proof designs on his employees.
(Lets hope they have good health insurance.)
Apparently, about 250 people work at Caballero’s factory. (From the pictures, one would assume that number changes daily!)
And he is always hiring dedicated people willing to take a shot in the arm for the company!
So you may think armored clothing for children is a far-fetched idea.
I couldn’t agree more. That’s why it was shocking to find this as last Saturday’s lead-story of our local paper’s Business News.
Must have been a slow news day is all I can figure.

So, okay I am in Canada, we don’t have to worry quite as much about our kids being gunned down here. But we have had a couple of shootings at malls. If I lived in the US I would seriously consider outfitting my kid in armour. Miguel Caballero products have been certified by the United States National Institute of Justice. I read that president Obama is a customer, so what’s good enough for the pres would be good enough for my kid…and not as far fetched as many may think.
Yow. Okay … Slow news day, or maybe a call for you to invent bullet-proof, armoured socks. *nod* (*smirk* Hoping that this sarcasm stands out as what it is…)
I too heard about this on the news. I quess Lindsey Lohan stayed home that day. 🙂
Hello, not sure what to make of this armored children’s clothing….a sad day when the thought briefly crosses my mind that kids might need this. Anyhoo, on a brighter note, I have featured a sock on my latest blog post, lol. Yup, I’m obsessed with socks.
Sending light your way!

Why is he shooting them so close and in GI tract?
Glad the shooter has hearing protection
I hope the models get a day off.
Employee of the month?
