MS An Adage
Everyone is familiar with an adage….those old, well-worn truths.
“Out of sight-out of mind.”
“Birds of a feather flock together.”
“Look before you leap.”
Seems there are a million of ’em!
And did you know, many pertain to multiple sclerosis?
It’s true.
Here are some of the more familiar MS adages…..
“All is fair in love & war & finding a disabled parking spot.”
“Knowledge is power. A nap is even better.”
“If it ain’t broke, don’t hand it to someone with MS.”
“Easy come, easy go…unless it’s uphill.”
“An MSer doesn’t fall far from the shoes sitting in the middle of the room.”
“A penny saved is a penny earned to make a co-pay.”
“Good things come to those who wait. And you’ll wait a long time as I walk damn slow.”
“The sqeaky wheel gets the grease on a scooter.”
“There’s no place like a closed MRI.”
“Rome wasn’t built in a day, so don’t expect me to button this shirt.”
“Keep your friends close and your enemies closer to catch you in case you stumble.”
“You can’t make an omlet without breaking a few eggs, dropping the spatula, the fork, cooking spray, spilling cheese…”
“Time is money…and some doctors waste both of mine.”
“People who live in glass houses have Windex ’cause wall-walkers leave finger prints everywhere.”
“It’s not over till the fat lady sings–or the IV is empty, whichever comes first.”
“Don’t put all your eggs in one rollator basket.”
“Strike while the iron is hot. Don’t worry, I got no feeling in my hands.”
“Hope for the best, but prepare for a flare.”
“You can’t always get what you want–that’s why we have reachers.”
“When the going gets tough–the tough have MS.”
“You can lead an MSer to water but you can’t make them do aerobics.”
and finally…
“There is no time like the present, and presently, I have to pee.”
